Most, if not all, web design galleries display a home page screenshot of the websites they're featuring. However, there are cases where I find the inner pages of a website to be the more inspiring and worth showcasing, say if they have a particularly clever site map or a neat contact form. Or that rare single blog post page design where the comment area works really well with the rest of the site visually and functionally.
I know that the home page is the representation of a website design, but I just wish more appreciation and attention is given to the other pages as well.
What do you guys think?
There are a number of sites in the Drawar Gallery that use an inner page over the homepage, but I do admit that I don't go searching for them. You are right that many times a site will have a great inner page that gets overlooked. The best thing that can be done is that people spread the word about it and hope that it gets recognized.
There are a number of design galleries aimed at website components rather than the over site, whilst not entirely sub pages, they do feature the elements you've talking about:
http://patterntap.com/ or http://designsnips.com/
are a couple.
