About Drawar
Because it had to be done.
Nowadays it’s pretty clear that when Scrivs writes about web design, you stop what you’re doing and go read. wplover
It's official @drawar is one of the most honest, no-nonsense design blogs. Please check it out. @ProfessorTD
Sometimes it really is as simple as you think. Drawar is a design community run by Paul Scrivens and his pseudo-company Emersian. Enough with the third person. I am Paul Scrivens and I was getting tired of not being able to jump online and dive into a design community to discuss what was on my mind. I was also tired of seeing my RSS reader filled with nothing but lists posts.
Since I started 9rules I knew a thing or two about running a community and writing content that people would enjoy so instead of sitting on my ass hoping for the day to come where one would pop up, I decided to create one myself. What you see in front of you is the ever growing and evolving result of it all.
It isn't easy (or smart) to be everything to everybody, but Drawar does a lot of what designers are looking for. Top notch articles discussing design, a gallery to help maintain inspiration, and forums to bring the discussion to a central location. As time goes on more sections will be added that will aid in the growth of the design community. Drawar is a site for the community and in time run by the community.
Drawar would not exist if it weren't for the great innovators around the web and the many great websites that have provided us with the inspiration to create it. A couple of shoutouts go to k10k, Surfstation, QBN/Newstoday and Netdiver.
Kudos to @drawar for being one of the few web design blogs to write interesting, thought-provoking articles. I love it. @LTDesroches
I don't think it's too strong a word to say that I LOVE your blog! Thanks for giving us something to think about and be inspired by. @etgilbert
Scrivs has a habit of authoring terrific, thought-provoking design articles. @AquaVelvet
I was doing work, then I saw @drawar had a new article up. @mike_thomas
Drawar.com is, most likely, the most organic site on the internet. @whitehawk
Drawar is a comfortable place to hang out. What I mean by comfort is that I feel like I am amongst people who care about making the design community better. I can read through the comments in Drawar and likely find very little flaming cheap shot comments. In fact I don’t think I’ve seen anything on Drawar except people having some intelligent and respectful conversation. The topics are interesting, and I actually care about what is being said there. What I especially love is that I can really see the way other designers think and get a sort of in the trenches view of something they’ve experienced. Francisco Inchauste
